Animation

Image
This was a really  tough project. I’ve never animated before so I had no idea where to even start. I decided to do the rotoscope technique and trace myself dancing. I really wanted to add something to it after I had done the outline and decided to switch from color to black and white. This project took me an entire week...for only 15 seconds! Overall, I couldn’t have asked for it to turn out better and now I can say i’ve done an actual animation!

This was one of the hardest projects of the semester, simply because I had no clue of what to create. I understood what the project entailed, however my mind just blanked on a concept. Eventually, I came up with the idea of the duality of the brain.    The idea is that our right side of the brain is more creative and free, whereas the left side is more logical and critical. I have alway been a creative person, so I favor my right side (hence the flowers and overall more positive atmosphere of the right side). I find things that require me to think is a specific manner to be difficult, which is why the left side is more dark, with chains and poison  ivy.   Despite my struggles in the beginning, I’m very happy with how the final product came out!

Multiplicity

This is by far one of my favorite projects of the semester! It was so much fun to do and I am so happy with how the final piece came out. I think the hardest one to photoshop in was myself laying down on the floor. I had to make sure the shadow was transferred over and make it blend in to the new floor. I think I did a pretty good job with it in the end (even though one little shadow took me so long to do).

BW to Color

For this project, I decided I wanted to do three color palettes that were pretty different from each other. For the first one, I wanted to recreate the original as closely as I could. For the second, I went completely alien green and transformed myself into something out of this world! For the last one, I went with a really neutral palette of browns and pinks, which turned out better than I expected. Overall, I am very happy with how all of these turned out and this earned me my very first entry into the Hall of Fame!
