Poster

This was a really fun project! I think the hardest part of transforming the image into black and white was that my hair kept getting lost in the background! I did my best to try and work around that but regardless I think the poster still came out really good!

I struggled quite a bit with this project. Not only did I have to write a letter to my future self (which was surprisingly hard to do), but I then had to take these words and create a picture with them alone! I decided what I really wanted to stand out was the words that I used to describe myself in the letter It was really tricky to get the proportions and angles right but overall, I was really proud of what I came up with. It’s not perfect but I think it was a great first try at a new technique!

Letter to my Future Self

Dear Future Emily,        I’m sure you will see as this letter continues that I’m not all that great at writing about myself, but I know you will put up with it because well…you have too. Where do I begin, well I’m currently writing this in 2020 which has been, as you know, complete shit. It’s been tough recently, you lost your grandfather, you are stuck inside your room with barely any contact with the outside and you’re depressed as all hell. Don’t worry, some good things have happened though. You’re doing well in your classes, you are continuing to write (although not as much as you would like), and you have some pretty awesome roommates to be stuck with during this all. All this is not really news to you though, since I guess you lived through it…Moving on!        Since I just gave you a recap of all that’s been going on with me now, here’s some things that I hope that you are/are doing. I hope we are still as crazy as we are now, not like “unsub on Criminal M

Final Logo and Business Cards

Image
This assignment was honestly more difficult than I initially thought it was going to be! My logo, I realize now was too complicated. If I had to go back and fix my design, I would either make the G connect to the heart, or take out the word entirely and just keep the heart with "Loving Inc." typed next to it. Although my logo was a little rough, I enjoyed this project because it really helped me recognize the difference between a good and bad logo!

Mood Boards

Finding 5 words to describe myself was honestly kind of difficult. Eventually, I settled on loving, musical, imaginative, extrovert and attentive. Once I settled on these words, I then had the difficult task of trying to draw the logos for these words. I've never been a great artist so having to hand draw these logos already was a big challenge for me. In the end though, I am happy with how they all turned out and I don't think the drawing are that bad haha!

Playing with Illustrator

Image
My brother is a senior in high school and on the varsity swim team. The school usually holds a "senior night", where they celebrate and recognize all the senior's on the swim team. Our team usually makes posters for the seniors and it was my younger brother (who is also on the swim team) and my mom's job to make the poster. They had asked me for some ideas and I decided to play around with illustrator with some of the ideas I had. My brothers name is Grayson, but his nickname on the team is "Gravy", so i decided to incorporate that by having a swimmer swim in some gravy! I thought this was a cute little project and it was fun to play around with some of the elements in illustrator.
